Verdict is a restricted judicial workspace, not a consumer website. It stores only what is strictly necessary to keep a signed-in court user securely signed in.

What is stored

Session token: held in the browser's local storage to keep the court user signed in and to authorise requests. Cleared on sign-out.
Security state: short-lived values used to complete sign-in and email verification safely.

What is not used

No advertising or marketing cookies.
No third-party analytics or session-replay trackers.
No cross-site or cross-device profiling of judges, counsel, parties or witnesses.
No sale or sharing of usage data.

Consent

Because the storage listed above is strictly necessary to deliver a service the court user has requested, no consent banner is required under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 or comparable law. If a court later asks for optional analytics, they will be introduced only behind an explicit, withdrawable opt-in and documented here first.

Managing storage

Signing out clears the session. Clearing site data in the browser removes all stored values; the court user will then need to sign in again.

This page is maintained by the Verdict platform operator and describes the platform's own practices and the controls available to a licensed court. It is not an independent certification or audit, and it does not replace the practice directions, rules of court or written law of any jurisdiction. Each licensed court remains the controller of its own case data and publishes its own notices to court users.
